Syro Malabar Community Dubai celebrates ‘Syro Malabar Day 2021’

Dubai : The Syro Malabar Community in Dubai celebrated the Syro Malabar Day 2021 on 3rd December. The online event was conducted via Zoom platform and telecast live on YouTube.

The event began with the Holy Qurbana at 4.30 pm UAE time. Mar Joseph Srampickal, Bishop of the Great Britain Diocese was the main celebrant of the Holy Qurbana.

Cardinal Mar George Alencherry conveyed a video message to the faithful. The public event was graced with the presence of Bishop Paul Hinder OFM Cap, Apostolic Vicar of the Vicariate of Southern Arabia and the Apostolic Administrator of the Vicariate of Northern Arabia. Fr. Lennie J.A. Connully, OFM Cap., Parish priest of St. Marys Church and Fr. Alex Vachaparambil, OFM Cap., Spiritual Director of the Malayalee Community also conveyed their wishes and blessings during the event.

The activities of the Syro Malabar Community, Dubai during the year 2020-21 was presented during the event. The prayer song was recited by the children of SMC Catechism.

The main highlight of the event was the musical drama “The Guardian – with a father’s heart”. The drama was presented to commemorate the Year of Saint Joseph. It featured two stories, depicting Saint Joseph as the ‘Patron of Unborn children’ and ‘Patron of Workers’.
