Melbourne: The first seminarian of the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of St Thomas the Apostle Melbourne was ordained to Diaconate. Deacon Bibin Velamparambil was ordained in Rome by Syro-Malabar Church Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar George Alenchery. The ordination of Deacon Bibin Velamparambil took place on the 13th of May.

Bipin Velamparambil is the son of V.V. Sabu and Jancy Kurian, his sister is Bismi Kurian. He is a member of St John the Baptist Forane Church, Nedumknunnam, Archdiocese of Changanacherry.

Having completed his primary education in Kerala, Deacon Bibin is now a student at Pontificio Collegio Internazionale Maria Mater Ecclesiae, Rome.
