Wales - 8th Convention of UK Malankara Catholic Church Missions will commence today at 2 pm, with His Beatitude Baselios Cardinal Cleemis, the head of the church, as the esteemed chief guest. The convention will see the participation of believers from 19 mission centers across the UK. Taking place from June 23rd to June 25th, the 8th Malankara Convention will be held at Cefn Lea Park Newtown in Wales, which has been named Cyril Basilios Catholicos Nagar.
The motto for this three-day residential convention is "Let your light shine before others" (Matthew 5/16), and various classes and seminars related to this theme will be conducted. Special sessions will be organized for the youth by the Malankara Youth Movement, and students will have the opportunity to engage in educational activities led by the Religious Education Department. Additionally, the convention will feature a Bible Quiz, Cultural Program, Sports activities, Faith Declaration Rally, Delegate Conference, Joint Conference, and Holy Mass.
Spiritual educational classes will be conducted by Rev. Fr. Cherian Thazhaman, Shri Jithu Devasya, and Shri Jobi Varghese, who serve as the Ireland Coordinators of the Malankara Catholic Church. His Beatitude Baselios Cardinal Cleemis will bless the members of the first batch who have completed training as part of the evangelization Gospel team. A special prayer will also be offered during the Holy Eucharist to remember those who have passed away from the UK Church.
Distinguished individuals, including students from GCSC, A level, higher education, Sunday school 12th grade, as well as couples celebrating 25 years of marriage and individuals with birthdays during the convention days, will be honored. The youth organization will raise awareness about organ donation.
During the convention, the theme song composed by Prakash Anchal, with music by Peter Cheranalloor and vocals by Abhijit Kollam, will be released. The convention logo, designed by Rijo Kunjukutty, has already been unveiled. Furthermore, a souvenir will be released during the closing session of the convention.
Various committees, led by priests under the supervision of the Malankara National Council, headed by the Special Pastor and UK Coordinator, Rev. Fr. Dr. Kuriakos Thadatthil, are working diligently to ensure the smooth organization of the convention.
