Tragic Bus Accident in Palakkad: Two Lives Lost and Severe Injuries Reported

Palakkad: The bus controlled by Kallada Travels, operating long-distance services, met with an accident after losing control at Palakkad. The accident occurred early on Wednesday morning near the Agricultural Development Bank towards Thiruvazhiyode. 

Initial reports suggest that the driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel, resulting in the accident. Tragically, two individuals were trapped beneath the bus and succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Their bodies have been transported to the Palakkad district hospital.

The bus, which was traveling from Chennai to Kozhikode, was involved in the accident. At the time of the accident, there were 38 people on the bus. Among them, two individuals lost their lives. One of the deceased was a native of Malappuram, Edayarathoor Swadeshi Sainaba Beevi. The identity of the second deceased individual hasn't been confirmed yet. The bodies have been preserved at the Palakkad District Hospital.  The injured passengers have been taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Fortunately, they are currently in stable condition and out of immediate danger.

The occupants of the bus suffered severe injuries. Former MLA K Premkumar had arrived at the scene. There were discussions at the scene regarding the fatalities. Following this, MLA K Premkumar confirmed the death of two individuals. However, at the initial stage, the confirmation wasn't made. After reaching the hospital, both of them were pronounced dead. Local residents, police, and fire force personnel joined efforts to reach the victims to the nearby hospitals.

Thiruvazhiyode is the nearest location to Cherplaseri. The accident happened here at the intersection. The bus, which had lost control, had veered off the road. A woman and a man were seriously injured after getting on the bus. They were shifted to the Palakkad District Hospital. Other details of the victims are yet to be disclosed.
