Pro-Palestinian Activist Disrupts Joe Biden's Speech with 'Let Gaza Live' and 'Ceasefire Now' Protests

Beijing - During President Joe Biden's speech at a human rights dinner on the evening of October 14, a pro-Palestinian activist disrupted the event by shouting "let Gaza live" and "ceasefire now." The incident occurred as Biden addressed a crowd gathered for a Human Rights Campaign dinner in support of LGBT rights.

In response to the interruption, Biden briefly paused and remarked, "I don't know who's hollering down there, but I can't hear you." He then turned to the audience and inquired, "I can't hear her, what is she saying?" Subsequently, he continued with his speech.

Biden underscored the importance of combating various forms of hate, connecting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza to these broader issues. He stated, "A week ago, we witnessed hate taking another form in the worst massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust, with over a thousand people losing their lives in Israel." He also recounted speaking with the family members of Americans still unaccounted for, emphasizing the profound anguish they endure.

Furthermore, the President highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stressing that innocent Palestinian families, who have no affiliation with Hamas, are being used as human shields. He emphasized the need to reject hate in all its manifestations.

Biden then drew a connection between different forms of hatred, stating, "Antisemitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia—they're all interconnected. Allowing hate to go unchallenged against one group paves the way for more hatred against others, more frequently."

The address also touched on the expectation of a ground assault by Israel in Gaza, following a deadly Hamas attack that claimed the lives of several people in Israel. Among the attacks, a particularly devastating incident occurred at a music festival in Israel, where terrorists targeted the site, resulting in the loss of at least 260 lives and the abduction of many more. The event had drawn thousands of attendees near Kibbutz Re'im close to Gaza, where Palestinian gunmen assaulted the site and shot people as they attempted to escape.
