New Delhi - India is set to host the second Voice of the Global South Summit in a virtual format on Friday, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs. During its G20 Presidency, India has aimed to address the concerns of the Global South and ensure their priorities are considered in addressing global challenges. The summit will focus on sharing key outcomes from various G20 meetings during India's Presidency, discussing challenges posed by global developments, and exploring ways to maintain momentum towards a more inclusive and progressive world order.
The second VOGSS will consist of 10 sessions, with inaugural and concluding sessions at the Head-of-State/Government level hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The themes of these sessions are "Together, for Everyone's Growth, with Everyone's Trust" and "Global South: Together for One Future," respectively.
Additionally, there will be eight ministerial sessions covering topics such as finance, education, environment, health, and trade. The summit serves as a platform to foster collaboration and dialogue among countries of the Global South.
This follows the first-ever virtual Voice of the Global South Summit held in January of this year, which brought together 125 nations to discuss their goals and perspectives.
