Boko Haram Attack Kills Over 20 Fishermen in Northeastern Nigeria

At least 20 fishermen lost their lives when Boko Haram insurgents attacked the fishing community of Gadan Gari in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno state. The attack took place on Wednesday around 11:00 GMT, with the insurgents storming the area and opening fire on fishermen.

Modu Ari, a member of the civilian joint task force, confirmed the attack, describing it as devastating. Mustapha Kacahallah, a local resident, shared that his child was among the victims and that more than 15 people have already been buried.

Boko Haram's activities have caused significant human and economic losses in the region, leading to mass displacement and a worsening humanitarian crisis. Military and Borno state officials have not yet issued a statement on the incident, which highlights the ongoing challenges faced by communities in northeastern Nigeria.
