Do we care about the Hungry, the Thirsty, the Addict, the Prisoner?

Pope Francis reflected on the story of the first brothers, Cain, and Abel during his Homily. He asked everyone the same question that God asked Cain after he  murdered Abel : “Where is your brother?, the sick, the hungry, the thirsty, the one without clothes, the little one who cannot go to school, the one addicted to drugs, the prisoner. Where is he? Is your brother in your heart? Is there room for these people in our hearts?” The Pope invited all Christians to put a name to the list of those mentioned in his Homily. He urged Christians not to hide from God; rather to answer joyfully and faithfully the questions he asked, “about our brothers.”

“for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not give me clothing, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not take care of you?’ Then he will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.” (Mathew 25:42-45)
