India ranks 17th in total inoculation tally;  13.3 crore yet to be administered the first dose

New Delhi: India has ranked 17th in the world in terms of complete inoculation, the Center has said.  This figure is in proportion to the total population. Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare of India, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar reported to the Loksabha that 13.3 crore people are yet to receive the first dose of the vaccine.

The above number to receive the first dose are from the 93.9 crore people over the age of 18 who are eligible to receive the vaccination.  33.6 crore from the above eligible population, are yet to receive the second dose.  Out of this, 17 crore are men.  Dr. Bharati also said that the number of women who have to receive the second dose was 16.4 crore.

Other countries that are at the forefront of complete inoculation are South Korea, Japan, Italy, France, the UK, Germany, the USA, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico.  These are countries with a population of over five crores.

Meanwhile, 108 countries have approved India's Covid Vaccination Certificates for travel purposes.  She added that people who were inoculated by the vaccines approved by the World Health Organization are allowed to travel anywhere in the world.
