New Delhi: The Central Government has warned users to update their Google Chrome browser. The warning was issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) the national nodal agency for responding to computer security incidents as and when they occur. This is due to several security issues found in the Google Chrome browser.
Currently, some vulnerabilities in Chrome could lead to malware and hacking threats. Because of these issues, hackers can infiltrate a specific system from a distance and leak personal information and deposit malware. Google has released a new update, to combat this vulnerability.
Unauthorized code can be executed to exploit existing security vulnerabilities in the system. Attackers can gain access to personal details and install malware on the targeted computer. The warning states that phone, banking information and passwords may all be lost as a result.
Google has already released an update to fix this vulnerability due to a security issue. The central IT department and Google have instructed users to install the latest software update.
Google says the new update could fix 22 security issues. The updated version of Chrome can be installed manually by clicking on the update option in the settings tab.
