Kanpur : Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched blockchain-based digital degrees at the 54th Convocation ceremony held at IIT Kanpur today. These digital degrees can be verified globally and are unforgeable.
At the convocation, all the students were issued digital degrees through an in-house blockchain-driven technology developed at the Institute under the National Blockchain Project.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the chief guest at the ceremony. Uttar Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were the guests of honour. IIT Kanpur had geared up the ceremony in in a hybrid mode in view of the pertaining Covid situation.
“IITs in the country have always been the incubation centers of talent and technology” said the PM while addressing the congregation. “The world's first floating CNG filling station developed in Varanasi by IIT Kanpur is very good”
“Today is a day of double happiness for Kanpur. On one hand, Kanpur is getting metro rail facility and on other hand, the world of technology is also getting priceless gifts from IIT Kanpur“.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the completed section of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project at around 1.30 pm today. The Kanpur Metro Rail Project's 9 km long section stretches from IIT Kanpur to Moti Jheel.
