Forces that undermine the path of progress will be dealt with ; CM’s Republic Day Message

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the people of Kerala will unite to defeat the forces that are undermining the path of progress. He said the spirit of unity was becoming more relevant at a time when our state needed to move faster on the path of progress after recovering from the effects of the Covid epidemic, said Pinarayi addressing the state in his Republic Day message.

“It has been 73 years since our Constitution came into force, inhabiting the essence of India, the largest democracy in the world. As Dr. BR Ambedkar commented, 'The Constitution is not just a law book. Is the driving force of life. Immersed in it is the spirit of an era '. It is the Constitution that embodies the idea of India in spite of the vast cultural diversity that can be seen in any other country.” he added.

The Constitution is a thread that binds the inmates of this vast land. Today, communal politics, rooted in sectarianism, is making strong efforts to undermine its very essence. It seeks to weaken federalism and usurp state power. It is destroying the concept of a nation based on secularism and incorporating it into the majority religion. The Chief Minister said that the very meaning of democracy is slowly eroding away.

Therefore, the collective struggle against these dangers needs to emerge strongly from the democrats. On this Republic Day, let us pledge that the essence of the Constitution will not be lost. He said that the people of Kerala have a desire to reject all propaganda and to give a befitting answer to false propagandists and the narrow-minded .

We need to ensure that the benefits of development reach everyone. Therefore, he said, the Constitution of the country would not be fully practiced in the full sense of the word until the social atrocities were brought to an end.
