Kochi: KCBC has stated that the Kerala government's strict regulation on allowing the faithful to attend worship online only, in the wake of increased Covid cases, is illogical.

While programs are allowed with restrictions in many other places, the imposition of such a strict restriction on Churches that already adhere to the Covid regulations should be reconsidered.

Restrictions that are not applicable on other days of the week are also imposed only on Sundays. This is detrimental to the Rights of Worship of Christian denominations. Therefore, KCBC President Cardinal Mar George Alencherry demanded that the government bring in Covid restrictions respecting religious rights of the faith community.
