Jalandhar: International kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal was shot and killed during a match. The incident took place during a kabaddi match in Malian village in Jalandhar.

Police said that twenty shots were fired in the head and chest. Even though Nangal was rushed to the hospital, could not be rescued. Video footage of the incident has been circulating on social media.

Nangal, who has been an active kabaddi player for 10 years, has also been part of tournaments in USA, Canada and UK.

Sandeep, is survived by his wife, and his two kids. The late athlete was renowned by the moniker of 'Gladiator' of Kabaddi.
