Muscat: The Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia His Excellency Bishop Paul Hinder has ordained Deacon Dickson Eugene Das on Friday 25th March 2022 in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Oman. Being the first priestly ordination in the country made it a historic occasion for the Catholics in the country.

The Sultanate of Oman comes under the Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Arabia and has a Catholic community of close to 60,000 people, which is approximately 2% of the total population.

Fr. Dickson, who grew up in Oman, belongs to the Salesian province of Bangalore, India. Fr.
