Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin inaugurates TN Pavilion in Expo 2020, honoured at diaspora event

Dubai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin during his visit Dubai Expo 2020, inaugurated the Tamil Nadu Week at the Indian Pavilion. The inauguration was held in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Cabinet Minister of Tolerance & Commissioner General of Dubai Expo 2020.

Speaking at the event the CM hailed the Dubai Government for organizing the Expo2020. He said that the Tamil Nadu state pavilion will showcase the growth, development and opportunities across industrial parks, manufacturing, agriculture and other sectors during the Tamil Nadu Week.

The CM is also poised to meet the UAE investors council, Indian businesses in the UAE, professional groups and CEOs of top global firms in Dubai.

The key focus sectors in the state of Tamil Nadu are Automobiles and Auto-components, Defence, Aerospace, Renewable Energy, Electric Vehicles, Electronics and Food Processing industries. The state’s participation during Expo will be to showcase the investment opportunities in these core areas.

Tamil-traditional art events were held at the Indian Pavilion as part of the Tamil Nadu Week which was inaugurated on Friday.

An exhibition of Tamil culture was also held at Burj Khalifa in honor of Stalin and Tamil Nadu. The week's inaugural function was attended by UAE Minister for Tolerance Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Tamil Nadu Industries Minister Thankam Thenarash, Consul General Amanpuri and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce Vice Chairman MA Yousafali.

In a rather, historical event, the Shahab Al Ahli Club, Saeed Bin Maktoum Hall at Al Mamzar saw huge crowds of Tamilians flocking the space to see a glimpse of Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, M.K.Stalin. The event, ‘Nammil Oruvar Namma Muthalvar’ (one among us, one of us is our chief) was arranged by the Consulate General of India. Addressing the Tamil Diaspora, He encouraged the community to come forward and share the knowledge and the technological development that they have learnt and adapted to, with their friends and brothers in India as well.


The event was graced by the presence of the Malaysian Minister of Human Resources, Yb Datuk Seri Saravanan A/L Murugan, Srilankan Member of Parliament, Abdul Rauff Hibbathul Hakeem Tamil Nadu Miniter of Tamil Official Language, Thangam Thennarasu, Member of Parliament, M.M. Abdullah, Members of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, TRB Raja, Udayanidhi were among those participated in the event.

The CM later wrote in his twitter account that it was a happy moment that the Tamil people identified him as 'one among us’ and embraced him as 'one of us is our Chief'”.


The students of Buds Public School, Muhaisnah sang the UAE National Anthem during the event. The school children also sang the Indian National Anthem and recited a Tamil poem.
