Kottayam: Mar Joseph Powathil released a book on the Liturgical history of the Syro-Malabar Church, titled 'History of Syro-Malabar Qurbana'. Liturgical scholar Dr. Thomas Mannooramparampil details the history of the Syro-Malabar Qurbana (Holy Mass) in the book, from the era of St. Thomas the Apostle to April in the current year.

The composition of Dr. Mannooramparampil comes at a time when controversies exist regarding the Liturgy in the church.

The book is published as a joint effort by the Nasrani Foundation and Turn books. The book launch was attended by representatives of the publishers.

Mar Joseph Perumthottam, the Archbishop of Changanacherry and Mar Thomas Tharayil, the Auxiliary bishop of Archeparchy of Changanacherry, received the first copies from Mar Joseph Powathil.
