Nand Mulchandani appointed as first CTO of CIA

NEW YORK: Indian-origin man Nand Mulchandani has been appointed as the first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the CIA, the US intelligence agency. CIA Director William J Burns made the announcement.

Nand Mulchandani completed his primary education at the Bluebells International School, Delhi and his higher education at Harvard, Stanford and Cornell Universities in the United States

Mulchandani served as the CTO and Acting Director of DoD’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center. He has over 25 years of experience in the U.S. Department of Defense and other top agencies. He was the CEO of startups such as Oblix, Determina and ScaleXtreme.

“I am honored to join CIA in this role and look forward to working with the Agency’s incredible team of technologists and domain experts who already deliver world-class intelligence and capabilities to help build a comprehensive technology strategy that delivers exciting capabilities working closely with industry and partners,” said CIA's newly-appointed CTO, Mulchandani.
