Twin blasts at Kabul Grurudwara claims two lives

KABUL: Two explosions rocked the city of Kabul in Afghanistan on Saturday. The blasts took place near the gates of a Gurdwara in Kabul. Two people, including a security officer, were killed in the blast. ISIS is suspected to be behind the blast. The incident took place on Saturday morning.

According to international media reports, several shootings were heard near the Gurdwara since morning. The death toll is likely to increase further as it is a populated area.

Reports suggest that numerous Sikhs were inside the Gurdwara at the time of the blast. Following the explosion, The Ministry of external affairs, India, expressed concern over the incident. “We are closely monitoring the situation and waiting for further details on the unfolding developments," stated the ministry.

A spokesman for Kabul's commander said his forces had taken control of the area and cleared it of attackers. One Sikh worshipper had been killed in the attack and one Taliban fighter was eliminated during the clearing operation, he added.
