Thalassery - Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplany met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is on a three-day visit to Kerala.

The meeting was at the Mattannur Green Planet Resort. Rahul Gandhi congratulated him on his appointment as the new Archbishop of Thalassery Archdiocese.

Mar Joseph Pamplany shared with Rahul the acute problems and concerns faced by the migrant farmers in the wake of the buffer zone announcement. The Archbishop requested the immediate intervention of the Congress Party in agrarian matters.

The Archdiocesan Pastoral Coordinator Dr. Philip Kaviyil, Fr. Benny Nirappel and KCYM Director Fr. Jince Valiplackal were in attendance. Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, KPCC President K Sudhakaran and Peravoor MLA Sunny Joseph.
