National Film Awards Announced: Best Actress Aparna, Co-star Biju Menon, Director Sachi; Seven awards for Malayalam

New Delhi: The 68th National Film Awards have been announced. Best actors are Suriya and Ajay Devgn. Best actress Aparna Balamurali. Best Supporting Actor to Biju Menon. Sachi for Best Director (Ayyappanum Koshiyum). Nanchiyamma who sang the hit song from the movie Ayyappanum Koshiyum is the best singer.

Vipul Shah is the chairman of the jury. Viji Thampi from Kerala is on the jury.
Soorarai Pottru directed by Sudha Kongara is the best movie. Ajay Devgn won the award for his film Tanhaji while Surya and Aparna were presented with the Soorarai Pottru award.

Madhya Pradesh has been selected as a film-friendly state. The award is a silver medal and a certificate. The states of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh won the special award in this ca

Rhapsody of Rains directed by Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan won the best film in the non-feature category. In the same category, the award for the best cinematography was given to Nikhil S. Praveen's film Shabdikkunna Kalappa. Jury recommendation for Vaanku directed by Kavyaprakash. The best Malayalam film is Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam.
