False news circulating in Media regarding Uniform Liturgy; Syro-Malabar Media Commission

Kakkanad: The Syro Malabar Media Commission has brought to the notice of the faithful that misleading and false information is being circulated in certain newspapers and online media about ‘an important step by the Vatican on the Uniform celebration of Holy Qurbana’ in Syro-Malabar Churches.

As claimed in the fake news, neither the Holy Father Pope Francis nor the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches has given any new directives regarding the governance of the Major Archeparchy of Ernakulam–Angamaly or regarding the topics discussed in the current Syro-Malabar Synod, other than the ones that has already been officially announced earlier. The notice regarding this was stated through a written statement by the Secretary of Syro-Malabar Media Commission, Fr. Antony Vaddakekara V. C.

Archbishop Mar Andrews Thazhath, appointed as the Apostolic Administrator, is trying to find a solution to the current issues in the light of the directives from Pope Francis and the Holy See. The Synod has promised the administrator all necessary cooperation and the support of the Church for arriving at a solution. The Church has already officially issued a detailed explanation regarding the uniform celebration of the Holy Qurbana, and steps taken to compensate the loss occurred due to the land deal. Therefore, he has appealed to all those who yearn for the good of the Church to be alert against such misleading news and reject them.

In the recent days, various false reports have emerged in the Media that the Vatican is directly involved in the Uniform celebration of the Holy Qurbana.
