British India 10 Rupees banknote, 1917-1930 King George V - Numismatics 8

This beautiful Dark blue on gray and purple underprint 10 rupees British india note is a regular issue bank note signatured by J.B Taylor.

On the obverse side, GOVERNMENT OF INDIA is in the top and lower margin. There is a portrait of King George V wearing the Imperial crown and the robes of star of india in right window. Serial number is placed on the top right and lower left. 10 on all four corners and 10 underprint in white with TEN RUPEES in Central Denomination Panel. The relief underprint 10 is in the signature panel. This banknote is signed for the Government of India.



On the reverse side, the denominations of the note ‘TEN RUPEES’ is written in large type at the center. Seven different languages ( Hindi, Bengali, Burmese, telugu, Tamil, Marathi, and gujarati) of the denomination of the note are printed at the center. The initial GRI (Georgious Rex Imperator which is in Latin for George, King and Emperor) with an illustration of a crown in ornate panel in top left, and the star of the India at the lower right of the banknote.
