CCR conducts 'National Servants Gathering Program' in Mexico

Mexico: Charismatic Catholic Renewal (CCR) group conducted a 3-day seminar aimed at reviving the experience of the Holy Spirit in the servants of CCR. The national meeting and seminar were held in Mexico from September 16 to 18.

Prominent evangelists Chevalier Cyril John, and Mother Evangelina Trujillo spoke at the seminar.

The seminar was organised to awaken in the disciples and missionaries to live as light and salt of the world and thus evangelize with the power of the Holy Spirit.

All the topics of the seminar were taken from the letters of the Apostle Paul to his disciple Timothy.

Chevalier Cyril John

"I was just an ordinary Sunday Catholic. I had a job in the Indian Parliament," says Chevalier Cyril John. “The word “LUKEWARM” (Rev 3:15, 16) was applicable to me. It is from that situation the Lord chose me (Jn 15:16), because, He had a definite plan for me,” John said.

He began his servant leadership role in 1993 as the leader of his parish prayer group. 6 years (1994-2000) was Chairman of the Diocesan Service Team; Member of National Service Team of CCR in India (1995-1998); Chairman, National Service Team of India (2001-2010); He was a member of the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (ICCRS) (2004-2007), its Vice-President (2007-2015) and Chairman of the ICCRS Sub-Committee for Asia-Oceania (ISAO) (2006-2019).

He says that the turning point in his life came after he became a member of CHARIS International Service of Communion, which was established in 2018 on the personal initiative of Pope Francis. He then played an important role in promoting, strengthening and unifying the Catholic Charismatic Reformation in India and the Asian region.

His greatest influence was on intercessory prayer, especially prophetic intercession. He has conducted studies on prophetic intercession and has been accepted by the church worldwide. He has travelled to many countries to conduct training courses on the subject.

Cyril John says that a growth retreat he attended in 1993 brought about changes in his life. It was revealed to him in the counselling section that the Charismatic Reformation in Delhi is dead and the Lord is entrusting it to you. He says that he was not in any of his leadership ranks at that time but the Lord sent his Holy Spirit and prepared him for it.

He is the author of five books, 'Inspired by the Spirit, 'Come, Let us Celebrate the Holy Mass', 'Catholic Charismatic Renewal in India - An Appraisal', 'Lifting the Holy Hands in Prayer' and 'Prophetic Intercession'. Some of these books have been translated into 16 languages.

A retreat centre with a capacity of 200 persons named 'Jiwan Jyoti Ashram' was established in Delhi based on personal inspiration. He has also served the Archdiocese of Delhi as a Parish Council Member and Diocesan Pastoral Council Member.

Cyril retired in 2016 as Joint Secretary and Head of Protocol after 34 years in the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the Lower House of the Parliament of India.

Pope Francis honoured Cyril John with the honour of Chevalier in 2021 for his distinguished service to the Church at the diocesan, national, continental and international levels, particularly through the CCR.
