Moscow: 15 people were killed in an attack by an unknown person on a school in central Russia. 24 people including 22 children were injured. The assailant later shot himself dead.
Russia's Investigative Committee said the shooting took place at the school in Izhevsk, in the Udimurt region, about 150 kilometres (600 miles) east of Moscow. With a population of 1,000, Izhevsk is located west of the Ural Mountains in central Russia.
The shooting took place in the school where children of grades 1 to 11 study.
The entire school was evacuated and the surrounding area cordoned off, Udmurtva Governor Alexander Brechlov said in a video statement, adding that the unidentified assailant had shot himself dead.
The investigation committee informed that the gunman was wearing a black t-shirt with Nazi symbols. No information about the shooter or his motive has been released.
