New York: Following Twitter CEO Elon Musk's ultimatum to work around the clock or quit, mass resignations have occurred on the platform. As a result, several Twitter offices were temporarily shuttered.
Elon Musk has informed Twitter employees that if they can't work long hours, they can take three months' pay and go.
"You were requested to vote in the poll if you wanted to be a part of the new Twitter team by 5 p.m. on Thursday. "Those who did not comply have been informed that they may leave," Musk tweeted. Following this, the staff quit, citing their disagreement with the new policy.
Musk stated in a memo to staff that if Twitter 20 is to be successful, employees must work hard. Employees were given until 5 p.m. on Thursday to determine whether or not to continue working.
Or it was suggested that they split up in three months. Elon Musk advocates hard work and long hours to survive in a competitive world. However, exact figures on how many people quit their jobs are not available.
In a Twitter poll conducted by Blind App on Thursday, 42% of the 180 people who took part chose the exit option, and a quarter decided to stay because of pressures at the company.
Only 7% expressed their willingness to continue, admitting that they could work hard in the elections. Several employees are also announcing their resignations through public Twitter posts.
But Twitter has not yet responded to the news of the resignation. There are also reports that Musk tried to personally influence some top executives to retain them.
With the loss of nearly 100 employees, questions are being raised about Twitter's stability. It is estimated that the resignation of people, including engineers, will have a negative impact on Twitter's operations.
With the collective resignation of employees, the hashtag #RIPTwitter is trending on the meter. But Musk met this with sarcasm. Musk has tweeted a picture of the Twitter logo in front of the gravestone as a troll.
