Kyiv: Russia has intensified its missile attack on Ukraine. Six people were killed in the attack targeting the capital, Kyiv, and energy plants. Water and electricity were shut off in Ukraine after the attack.

Russia has launched 70 cruise missiles, according to Ukraine's Armed Forces.

Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander Valery Salushny stated that 51 of them were destroyed by Ukrainian forces. The Russian military fired 31 missiles at Kyiv.

Ukrainian forces intercepted 21 of these before they reached their targets.

Air alerts were also issued across the country, and a large number of people had to be evacuated.

Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, accused Russia of perpetrating a crime against humanity. "Russia's move is to put pressure on Ukraine completely in the dark. This is the new formula of Russian terrorism - said Zelensky.

Yesterday, a newborn baby was killed in a missile attack at a maternity hospital in Vilnius, Ukraine.

Following the attack, the European Union Parliament labelled Russia a sponsor of terrorism. Parliament voted to label Russia a terrorist regime and sought support from democracies.

Following this, the websites of the European Parliament faced a cyberattack. The attack was carried out by Kilnet, a pro-Kremlin group. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the hospital was bombed because of the presence of Ukrainian armed forces.

After yesterday's attack, Ukraine is completely in the dark. Ukraine has shut down three nuclear reactors due to power outages.

Neighboring Moldova was also affected by attacks on energy plants. The Moldovan president accused Russia of keeping Moldova in the dark.

Russia's move to intensify its attack on Ukraine comes in the context of winter.

Russia's current effort is to force Ukraine into peace talks. Destroying Ukraine's energy plants is aimed at this. In Kyiv alone, more than 80 percent of people are struggling without drinking water and electricity.
