California: Edwin Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, got married again on his 93rd birthday. After a long time of love, 63-year-old Anka Faure became her life partner. He shared pictures of the wedding on Twitter.
The former pilot said that he and new wife Anca Faur were as "excited as eloping teenagers".
The wedding took place in a private ceremony in Los Angeles. Faure serves as executive vice president of Buzz Aldrin Ventures LLC.
Apollo 11 was the first manned mission to land on the moon on July 20, 1969. Neil Armstrong and Aldrin walked on the lunar surface while Michael Collins remained in orbit around the moon. Aldrin landed on the moon nineteen minutes after Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon. Buzz Aldrin is the only one of those three legends alive. Fellow travelers Armstrong departed in 2012 and Collins in 2021.
Aldrin retired from NASA in 1971 and founded the Share Space Foundation in 1998 to promote the expansion of crewed space exploration.
The jacket worn on the historic lunar mission in 1969 also made headlines when it fetched nearly $2.8 million at auction.
Anka Faure holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
