An EasyJet pilot made a 360-degree turn to treat passengers to a stunning view of the northern lights, spotted across the UK on Sunday night, with the display being seen as far south as Cornwall.
The Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, made a rare appearance in the skies over the United Kingdom on February 28, 2022. The natural light display was visible in several areas of the country, including northern Scotland, northern England, and Northern Ireland.
The EasyJet plane was travelling from Iceland to Manchester as the aurora borealis lit up skies across the UK in a rare display.

Passenger Adam Groves, who was on the plane, told BBC that the view as "incredible" and said it topped off his four-night trip, which also included getting engaged.
The UK enjoyed a second night of spectacular views of the lights on Monday evening.
An EasyJet spokeswoman said: "We are pleased that the captain was able to perform a controlled manoeuvre in order to allow passengers to witness an amazing display from the air of one of nature's greatest sights.
"Our crew will always go above and beyond for our customers and we're delighted to have been able to share this special view with them."
Many people took to social media to share their stunning photos and videos of the aurora as it lit up the night sky.
The display was particularly special as it marked the second consecutive night of aurora sightings in the UK.
The phenomenon is caused by charged particles from the sun colliding with the Earth's atmosphere and is usually only visible in regions close to the Earth's magnetic poles.
