Saint Eusebius, the Thirty-First Pope (Successors of Peter – Part 31)

The thirty-first pastor of the Church and V. A.D. with the successor of Peter. 309 (Some historians say 310 was the year he was elected pope.) April 18 v. Pope Eusebius was elected. Pope Eusebius, like his predecessors, displayed a pastoral approach in addressing such addresses. He also commanded and taught that those who showed true repentance and had made proportionate atonement for their sin could be admitted into the church. But a faction led by a man named Heraclius accused Pope Eusebius of his positions, as did his predecessors.

Heraclius and others argued that apostates should not be readmitted to the church. Following this, the disagreements that arose in the church were extreme and were going to divide the church itself. Following this, the Roman Emperor Maxentius intervened in ecclesiastical affairs and exiled Pope Eusebius to Sicily. Not long after his exile, A.D. He passed away on 17th August 309 (310).
