New Delhi: Indian medical students who have returned from Ukraine following the Russia-Ukraine war will be given an opportunity to write the MBBS exam in the country. The government has informed the Supreme Court that it will give students a final chance to clear MBBS Part 1 and Part 2.
The theory test will be based on the Indian MBBS Exam Syllabus. Practicals will be conducted in selected government medical colleges. Students who clear both these exams have to complete two years of compulsory internship. The first year is free. The center also informed that the amount decided by the NMC (National Medical Commission) will be paid in the second year.
The Center clarified that this is a one-time decision and will only apply to existing matters. Many Indians were MBBS students in Ukraine. With the Russia-Ukraine war, their studies were in crisis as the students who fled after the war could not return.
