Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Kerala today for a two-day visit amid tight security. The Prime Minister will land at the South Naval Airport at 5 pm and participate in a road show and Yuva program organized by the Yuva Morcha. There will also be a meeting with Christian church leaders including Cardinal Mar George Alencheri. Heavy security has been imposed in Kochi city.
As per the reports , leaders of eight rites of the church will meet the PM. Syro-Malabar church major archbishop cardinal George Alencherry, Malankara Orthodox church head catholicos Baselios Mar Thoma Mathews-III, Syro Malankara Catholic church head major archbishop cardinal Baselios Cleemis catholicos, Verapoly archbishop Joseph Kalathiparambil, Jacobite church metropolitan trustee Joseph Mor Gregorios, Knanaya church head Mar Mathew Moolakkatt, Knanaya metropolitan Kuriakose Mor Severios, and Chaldean Syrian church head Mar Awgin Kuriakose are expected to hold discussions with the PM.
Considering the Prime Minister's visit, 2600 policemen have been deployed all over the city as part of security. There are also traffic arrangements in the city from morning. On Tuesday morning, the Prime Minister will leave Kochi for Thiruvananthapuram and inaugurate various projects including Vandebharat train and Kochi water metro.
