Apostolic Nuncio to visit Changanacherry Archeparchy

Changanacherry - Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, the apostolic Nuncio to India and to Nepal,will arive in Kerala tomorrow, 28th April, to take part in various programs of the Archeparchy of Changanacherry.

Mar Thomas Tharayil. the auxiliary bishop of the Archeparchy of Changanacherry, will receive the Nuncio on his arrival at Nedumbassery airport at 7 pm tomorrow.

The Nucncio will take part in the celebration of the 1950th Anniversry of Martyrdom of Saint Thomas the Apostle and the concluding session of the Five Year Pastoral Plan, said Archbishop Joseph Perumthottam, Vicar Generals, Mon. Joseph Vaniyapurackal and Mon.Varghese Thanamavunkal at a press conference held at the Archdiocesan Center.

On the 29th, at 6.45 am, the Nuncio will calebrate the Holy Qurbana at the International Family Study Centre in the Pontifical John Paul II Institute Cana in Thuruthy. Discussions will further be held with students of higher education and professors which include priests and religiuos.

At 10.30, the Nucncio will inaugrate the conclusing session of the the golden jubilee of Asha Bhavan, a Special School and Home for the children with Special Needs under the Archeparchy. He will also visit the St. Joseph's Priest Home, the Residence of retired priests of Changanachery Diocese at noon.

Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli will be the chief guest the celebration of the 1950th Anniversry of Martyrdom of Saint Thomas the Apostle and the concluding session of the Five Year Pastoral Plan held at the Archbishop Kavukattu Hall, SB College Kavukatu Hall at 2.30 pm.

He will also visit St. Mary's Metropolitan Church, Changanacherry and pay respects at the tombs of the priests and bishops who led the Archeparchy. The new building of Alphonsa Sneha Nivas will be inaugurated at Fatimapuram at 6 in the evening.

On the 30th, at 7 am, he will visit the Champakulam Kalloorkadu St. Mary's Basilica and celebrate Holy Qurbana. He will also visit Chavara Bhawan, the birthplace of Saint Chavara Kuriakose Elias Chavara at Kainakary. He will return to Delhi at 3 on the same day after his visits.
