Pope Francis: World Youth Day a Chance to Interact with Individuals From Diverse Cultures

Pope Francis has offered his support to pilgrims signed up for World Youth Day (WYD), which will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from August 1–6, less than three months from now. The Pope acknowledged the excitement that young Catholics must experience as they get ready to travel in a video message that was made public on Thursday.

He claimed that he could picture the worries pilgrims must be thinking about, including how they would make it happen, apply for their job or study permits, and obtain the supplies they will need for their journey. The Pope also advised the youth to use their joy and hope as stepping stones as they looked toward the future.

Be Optimistic
Pope Francis remarked that participating in WYD is a lovely thing founded on the expectation of future events.

He advised the youth to approach their preparations with this passion and to be optimistic because one learns a lot at the WYD event.

He noted that although the pilgrims may not be aware of it now, they may anticipate learning great new things when they interact with individuals from diverse cultures and forge bonds based on similar values.

Grandparents: Source of Wisdom For Youth
The Pope urged WYD participants to be well-prepared for what lies ahead, saying that the Church is fortunate to benefit from youth's power. He also revealed to them a tip for thorough planning. He claimed that meeting with one's grandparents and other seniors can help them prepare well.

He has said that those who will be attending the World Youth Day in Lisbon should approach their grandparents for advice as they are capable of imparting wisdom to the youth.

Finally, he urged the youth to move ahead and expressed excitement about seeing them in Lisbon as he concluded his video message.
