National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) & Child Welfare Committee (CWC) members defamed Church, beat priests, destroyed computers, and ransack convent. The action of NCPCR and CWC on St. Francis Orphanage is illegal and contempt of court procedure.
St. Francis Orphanage, one of the leading institutes in the District of Sagar in Madhya Pradesh and is doing humanitarian service for the orphans and differently abled children at Shampura for the past 150 years is being unnecessarily raided by NCPCR and CWC without giving any prior information.
The renewal registration has been pending before the Government of MP department for the last three years. After repeated communications to the concerned departments to enquire about the delay in granting the renewal registration, they have not given any reply. Instead through different ways, organization were framed under different cases in the year 2021.
Later all the false allegations were exposed, and it was found all those charges were baseless and have no merit. Still, CWC tried to shift all the children forcefully in the last week of December 2021. The orphanage filed a writ petition before the honorable High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur for keeping the children in the Orphanage and the Honorable Court ordered in our favor and asked the parties to maintain status quo. The case is pending for a hearing on 9th May 2023.
But on 8th May 2023, the NCPCR Chairman Mr. Priyank Kanoongo and CWC State team with district team came to the Orphanage with police force and others for search and confiscate the documents illegally. They have not given any prior information for their visit, or they have not given any intimation for any kind of search warrants or orders.
Irrespective of producing the status quo order by the Honorable High Court of Jabalpur, the NCPCR and CWC authorities have ransacked the entire premises. The office computers and files were destroyed. The rooms of sisters in the convent in the Orphanage were raided unlawfully. They desecrated the altar of a century-old church on the campus. When the priests of the place objected to any kind of search, they were beaten up by the police and took two of the priests into custody. Now they are under bail.
The NCPCR and CWC forcefully took away CCTV DVR, Office computers, mobile phones of priests, documents of inmates etc. They shifted an inmate citing they found his parents without any proper documentation. The action of NCPCR and CWC on St. Francis Orphanage is illegal in action and contempt of court procedure.
