Kathmandu : Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, is embarking on a four-day visit to India from May 31 to June 3, 2023. This visit marks his first bilateral visit abroad since assuming office in December 2022. He has been invited by his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During his visit, Prime Minister Dahal has a series of meetings scheduled. On Wednesday, he is set to meet with Prime Minister Modi at 11 am at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. Following their meeting, the two leaders will preside over the exchange of agreements between Nepal and India and release press statements at the same venue around noon.
Later in the day, at 4 pm, Prime Minister Dahal will call on Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at his official residence on Maulana Azad Road. He will then meet with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
On the second day of his visit, Prime Minister Dahal will travel to Indore to attend a program. There is a possibility that he will also visit Ujjain. He is scheduled to depart for Kathmandu on June 3 at 4:20 pm.
Accompanying Prime Minister Dahal is a high-level delegation, and extensive talks between Prime Minister Dahal and Prime Minister Modi on the bilateral partnership between India and Nepal are expected. The visit follows the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries in line with the 'Neighbourhood First' policy.
