WASHINGTON  — US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have solidified their partnership, focusing on supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russia, advancing clean energy initiatives, and fostering collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

The leaders have established the "Atlantic Declaration," a groundbreaking agreement that serves as a framework for advancing emerging technologies and addressing economic security concerns.

Discussions also revolved around using critical minerals from the UK in the production of electric vehicles eligible for US tax credits. Both countries are engaged in talks with other nations, such as the European Union and Japan, regarding critical raw materials for electric vehicles.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine was a key topic, with the US and UK actively involved in supporting Ukraine's defense and planning long-term initiatives.

President Biden expressed confidence in Congress's continued funding for Ukraine, despite concerns about costs.

Prime Minister Sunak proposed UK Defense Minister Ben Wallace as a potential successor to NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. The leaders emphasized collaboration, particularly in the areas of AI and global efforts to address AI-related challenges.

They highlighted the importance of careful implementation of AI technologies for the benefit of humanity. The UK's assessment of the breach of the Kakhovka dam in Ukraine by Russia is ongoing, and Prime Minister Sunak condemned Russia if the breach is proven intentional.

The US-UK relationship is portrayed as strong, with a pragmatic approach by the Sunak government. Prime Minister Sunak emphasized the UK's reliability as an ally, and President Biden invited him to stay at Blair House during his visit.
