Annapolis, Md - In the capital city of Maryland, Annapolis, a shooting at a residence on Sunday night resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left three others wounded, according to the police. Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson addressed the media and stated that the incident was the outcome of an "interpersonal dispute" and assured the public that there was no ongoing threat. Chief Jackson emphasized that the investigation was still in progress and more details needed to be determined. He refrained from providing specifics about the relationship between the individuals involved but disclosed that the victims' ages ranged from their 20s to their 50s. The motive for the shooting had not been definitively established at the time of the briefing.
Chief Jackson emphasized that the incident was not a random act of violence, clarifying that the victims were "outside" the residence when they were fatally shot. The area where the shooting occurred, situated south of the city center and near the waterfront, was cordoned off with a significant police presence. The police promptly responded to the shooting, which took place around 8 p.m.
In a press release, the police department confirmed that one of the injured individuals had been airlifted to a trauma center. Additionally, the statement indicated that a suspect was taken into custody. However, Chief Jackson later referred to the person as a "person of interest" and clarified that no charges had been filed as of yet.
