Rahul Gandhi's Convoy Blocked by Police near Bishnupur, Congress Claims

Imphal - Police near Bishnupur have halted Rahul Gandhi's convoy, according to Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal. Venugopal expressed confusion over the reasons for the police's decision, noting that people were gathered on both sides of the road to greet Rahul Gandhi.

The police have announced that they have recovered the vehicle used by the attackers who targeted Dalit leader and Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Aazad. A bullet grazed Aazad's abdomen when unidentified assailants fired at his car in Deoband, Saharanpur district, while he was attending a supporter's ritual. The vehicle was seized from Miragpur village late Wednesday night, and its number plate indicated registration in Haryana, according to the police.

Sources have reported that unidentified gunmen fired without provocation in Haraothel village, Kangpokpi district, Manipur on Thursday morning. Security forces engaged in a firefight, which has now ceased. The shooting began at approximately 5:45 am and was met with retaliation from Assam Rifles troops. The situation is currently under control, with ongoing operations conducted by security forces.
