Imphal - On Saturday, a multi-party delegation from the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) is scheduled to visit Manipur, the northeastern state that has been grappling with ethnic violence since May 3. The Opposition's decision to send this delegation of 21 Members of Parliament from 16 parties underscores their concern and commitment to understanding the ground situation in the strife-hit region.
During their visit, the delegation plans to assess the situation by visiting two relief camps in the affected areas. Additionally, they are scheduled to meet Manipur Governor, Anusuiya Uikey, on Sunday morning.
The 21-member delegation comprises MPs from various political parties, including Congress, JDU, Trinamool Congress, DMK, CPI, CPI(M), RJD, SP, JMM, NCP, IUML, RSP, AAP, Shiv Sena (UBT), VCK, and RLD.
The visit aims to provide a platform for the affected communities to share their grievances and concerns and to gather firsthand information, which will be presented during discussions in Parliament.
