Imphal - In Imphal, Manipur, a series of tragic incidents unfolded, leaving at least two people dead and six others injured, including security personnel. The violence escalated as attackers opened fire at multiple locations, namely Phougakchao Ikhai, Heikol, and Terakhongsangbi in Bishnupur, and Kangvai in Churchandpur.

Among the victims was a villager who had sustained splinter injuries earlier in the week during an attack by armed assailants in the Heikol and Phougakchao Ikhai areas. Tragically, the villager succumbed to his injuries on Friday. Moreover, the attackers displayed further aggression by burning down six houses in Phougakchao Ikhai Maning Leikai, Bishnupur.

In response to the escalating situation, Central Forces and Police swiftly mobilized to all the affected areas and managed to control the situation by retaliating against the attackers. The authorities are now investigating these incidents in an effort to bring those responsible to justice and restore peace and stability in Manipur.
