Archbishop Cyril Vasil SJ, the Papal Delegate for the Archeparchy of Ernakulam-Angamaly has written a circular to the faithful of the Archeparchy of Ernakulam-Angamaly urging the Faithul to conduct adoration between the 6th and 16th August for amocable solution to the current issue regarding the Uniform mode of celebration of Syro-Malabar Qurbana.
The contents of the letter read as follows;
To the faithful of the Archeparchy of Ernakulam-Angamaly: greetings, peace, and blessings from Archbishop
Cyril Vasil.His Holiness Pope Francis has personally appointed me as his Delegate to the Archeparchy of Ernakulam-Angamaly with the purpose of helping the Archeparchy implement the Syro-Malabar Synodal decision on the uniform mode of celebration of the Holy Qurbana which is also approved by the Holy Father.
In complete obedience to His Holiness and placing my full trust in Our Lord, I have taken on this responsibility. I am fully aware that the successful completion of this task requires the prayers, cooperation and support of all of you, which I earnestly seek.
In this context, I kindly ask the entire community of the faithful in this archeparchy, including laity, religious, seminarians, and priests, to join together in prayer.
Let us seek a solution that is in harmony with the will of the Lord. I humbly request the parish priests, rectors of shrines and of the minor seminary, as
well as the superiors of religious communities, to organize an hour of adoration in their respective churches during the period between the 6th and the 15th of August, dedicated to praying for this intention. I also encourage those who are wiling to observe a day of fasting.
Additionally, I humbly request all the faithful to include the above-mentioned intention in in their prayers, whether during the recitation of the holy rosary or other prayers within their families, religious houses, and churches. We firmly believe that it is the Lord who guides our path, and it is only by following His way that we shall find the right course of action.
Dear brothers and sisters, the matter of how to celebrate the Holy Qurbana has been a significant concern for our archeparchy and the entire SyroMalabar Church in recent years.
Resolving this issue peacefully and with generosity of hearts will enable us to focus on other important matters to which the Lord calls us.
Therefore, I earnestly encourage each and every one of you to pray and work diligently towards achieving union of minds and hearts in pursuit of this goal. Through our collective efforts, we can find a lasting solution and move forward as a stronger and more united Christian community.
We invoke the graces of the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the intercession of Blessed Virgin Mary and of St Thomas the Apostle, our father in faith. With love and prayers for God's blessings upon all of you.
