Archbishop Cyril Vasil Updates Pope Francis in Person on Current Scenario in Ernakulam-Angamaly Archeparchy

Archbishop Cyril Vasil, designated as the Pope's representative for the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese, recently met with the Pope in Vatican City on August 23rd.

During their meeting, Archbishop Vasil briefed the Holy Father about his visit to the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese from August 4th to 22nd and shared insights regarding the current situation within the Archdiocese.

The Pontifical Delegate engaged in discussions with the various denominations within the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese and provided essential guidance.

In response, the Pope advised adherence to the decisions made in alignment with his directives and the Eastern Church's guidance.

Additionally, Cardinal Claudio Gujarotti, the head of the Oriental Congregation, furnished Archbishop Vasil with a comprehensive report detailing the crises faced by the archdiocese.


Furthermore, the Pontifical Delegate affirmed his commitment to carry out his mission, which involves finalizing the Syro-Malabar Synod's decision in conjunction with the Pope regarding the method of Eucharistic celebration.
