Kyiv: The Ukrainian foreign ministry conveyed on Saturday its discontent with the G20's joint declaration, stating that it was "nothing to be proud of" and pointedly criticized the omission of any mention of Russia.
Foreign ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko shared a screenshot of the pertinent section of the joint declaration, wherein several segments of the text were marked in red and subsequently revised to reflect Ukraine's perspective, underscoring Ukraine's status as a victim of unprovoked Russian aggression.
Nikolenko articulated on Facebook, "It is evident that the participation of the Ukrainian side (in the G20 meeting) would have allowed the participants to gain a more profound understanding of the situation."
Despite his disappointment with the overall content of the G20 declaration, Nikolenko expressed gratitude towards Ukraine's allies for their contributions aimed at advancing Ukraine's stance within the declaration.
“Ukraine is grateful to the partners who endeavored to incorporate robust formulations in the text,” he stated.
