Guwahati: Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the World Cup practice match. After winning the toss and batting first, Sri Lanka posed a target of 264 runs which Bangladesh chased with ease with eight overs to spare. Score - Sri Lanka: 263 (49.1 overs), Bangladesh - 264/3 (42 overs).
After winning the toss and electing to bat, openers Path Nisanga and Kushal Perera got off to a solid start. However, as the batters failed to capitalize the solid start, the Lankan innings ended 263.
Nisanga scored 68 runs and Dhananya D'Silva scored 55 runs. For Bangladesh, Mehdi Hasan took three wickets for 36 runs in nine overs.
In reply, Bangladesh too got off to a good start as the openers added 131 runs for the first wicket. Tanhid Hasan top scored with his classy 84 runs while Liton Das (61) and Mehidi Hasan (67) scored half-centuries, supporting the team to easily chase the target. Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten on 35 runs.
