Mumbai - In Goregaon West, Mumbai, a level-2 fire broke out at 3:05 a.m. on Friday in a seven-story building, leading to a tragic loss of seven lives and injuries to more than 40 individuals, with two of them in critical condition. Injured were transported to HBT Trauma Hospital and Cooper Hospital.
Fire brigade authorities have indicated that the fire originated in the Jai Bhavani building on MG Road in Goregaon. The blaze unexpectedly started in a ground-floor shop and spread to parked vehicles. Heroic rescue efforts resulted in the safe evacuation of over 40 individuals from the building, with ten fire tenders swiftly responding to control the fire. The blaze was finally extinguished around 7 am.
According to the Mumbai Police, out of the 46 individuals injured in the fire, seven have tragically lost their lives, while the remaining 39 are currently receiving treatment at HBT and Cooper Hospital.
