Tel Aviv - The Israel Defense Forces have reported the elimination of a high-ranking Hamas commander in a nighttime airstrike over Gaza. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) disclosed that Murad Abu Murad, the chief of Hamas's air force, was killed during an operation targeting the nerve center of Hamas's aerial activities.
The IAF tweeted, "Last night, IAF fighter jets conducted extensive strikes across the Gaza Strip, hitting numerous Hamas terror sites and 'Nukhba' operatives who were staging in the area."
Abu Murad had been responsible for orchestrating the recent incursion by Hamas operatives who crossed into Israeli territory via hang gliders, as reported by The Times of Israel.
Furthermore, during the past day, the Air Force carried out airstrikes on the operational headquarters of the Hamas terrorist organization, which served as the hub for managing their aerial operations. The strike resulted in the demise of Murad Abu Murad, who played a significant role in directing the terrorists involved in the deadly attack last Saturday.
In another series of extensive overnight strikes, the IAF targeted numerous locations associated with Hamas's commando units. The IAF statement read, "Simultaneously, our fighter jets carried out a comprehensive assault on a multitude of military targets and Hamas operatives stationed in staging areas across the Gaza Strip. The Najaba forces, primarily responsible for the incursion into nearby settlements last Saturday, were a primary focus."
Additionally, the Air Force confirmed that IDF soldiers identified a terrorist cell attempting to infiltrate Israeli territory from Lebanon. Subsequently, an IAF unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) engaged and neutralized the terrorist cell, resulting in the elimination of several of its members.
