New Delhi - On Friday night (November 3), a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck Nepal, and its tremors were felt in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) as well as various other parts of northern India, according to the National Centre for Seismology.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake's epicenter was in Nepal, located at a depth of 10 kilometers. It was situated approximately 227 kilometers north of Ayodhya and 331 kilometers west-northwest of Kathmandu.
The NCS reported, "Earthquake of Magnitude: 6.4, Occurred on 03-11-2023, 23:32:54 IST, Lat: 28.84 & Long: 82.19, Depth: 10 Km."
On the other hand, the United States Geological Survey mentioned that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.6 and described it as a "Notable quake, preliminary info: M 5.6 - 42 km S of Jumla, Nepal."
The strong tremors persisted for over a minute, prompting people to swiftly evacuate their residences in response to the seismic activity. This marks the third instance of a significant earthquake striking Nepal within a month.
