Renowned Indian actress turned author, Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is also a mother of two, recently engaged with a large audience of cinema and book enthusiasts at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2023).
During the event, she shared valuable insights about pregnancy, her journey in the film industry, and her passion for writing.
In a candid conversation with Rania Ali, a presenter based in the UAE, Kareena emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced diet during pregnancy, even though she loves indulging in pizzas and Chinese food.
She revealed that her 2021 book, "Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible: The Ultimate Manual for Moms-to-be," aimed to be a helpful resource, especially for first-time expectant and new mothers.
Kareena reflected on her experience during her first pregnancy, noting that she worked until she gave birth. She decided to write her book during her second pregnancy to share her journey and insights with her fans, as she has always been open with them. The actress, a seven-time Filmfare Award winner with a two-decade-long career, acknowledged that balancing work and motherhood was essential for her happiness.
She expressed her gratitude for her fans' support and love, which gives her the confidence to continue her acting career. Kareena Kapoor Khan, who hails from a family with a rich legacy in acting and filmmaking spanning four generations, revealed that her only dream is to keep acting and praised the positive changes in the Indian film industry, which now offers great scripts and more female-oriented roles.
Kareena also discussed her recent OTT debut in the 2023 Netflix film "Jaane Jaan." She appreciated the global reach of Netflix and the fact that stories could transcend language barriers with subtitles. Working in the OTT space allowed for more creative freedom in storytelling.
Despite her family's love for food and films, Kareena admitted that she doesn't cook, but her husband, Saif Ali Khan, is an excellent cook. She further shared her perfectionist tendencies, particularly when it comes to punctuality and cleanliness, traits commonly associated with Virgos.
Kareena Kapoor Khan, one of Bollywood's highest-paid actresses, has been associated with UNICEF since 2014, advocating for girls' education and improved quality-based education in India. She expressed her hope to visit the UAE more in the future, showing her commitment to connecting with her international fanbase and promoting important causes.
