Clash in Jammu and Kashmir: Four Army Personnel Martyred in Fierce Encounter with Terrorists

In a tragic turn of events, four Army personnel, including two captains, lost their lives during a fierce encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Wednesday.

Two others sustained injuries as the gunfight unfolded in the Bajimaal area of Dharmsal. The clash, a result of a cordon-and-search operation, aimed to neutralize two trapped terrorists.

The White Knight Corps of the Army reported the incident, highlighting the valiant efforts to prevent collateral damage. The injured have been moved to the Army's Command Hospital in Udhampur.

This confrontation follows an intensified joint operation launched based on specific intelligence in the Kalakote area. Local residents have been urged to stay indoors, with schools closed amid ongoing security operations.

The trapped terrorists, suspected foreign nationals, had sought refuge in a place of worship. Sadly, this incident adds to the toll of terrorism-related deaths in the region, with 46 recorded in Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi districts this year. The recent clash underscores the persistent threat faced by security forces in the area.
